Application – Master in Strategic Sports Management

In order to start studying at the International School of Management, please send the documents below by e-mail to your study advisor first.

This is what you need to submit for the initial check of your application:

Curriculum vitae (CV)
A successfully completed bachelor's degree (transcript of records) comprising at least 180 ECTS points (for the Fast Track option 210 ECTS points), or
An equivalent course of study at an university, university of applied sciences or a foreign university of equivalent level, and
In addition to the general admission requirements, the following examination results must have been achieved in the first degree program:

Applicants to the program must have completed their first degree (bachelor) in Sports Management or Economics.
Alternatively, applicants could have successfully completed examinations at Bachelor level or higher studies amounting to at least 30 ECTS points from the subject areas of Economics, Marketing, PR or Market Research.
Missing subject-specific ECTS points can be replaced by qualified work experience or corresponding internships. If you need more ECTS points, also taking the ISM Pre-Master program (goes for 1 semester and you receive 30 ECTS points) will allow you to acquire missing ECTS.

If you would like to apply, we invite you to please register online for the admission test. You will then receive a confirmation of enrolment to the admission process with a link to our Online Application Portal and the date of your interview.

Deadlines:

We have no fixed applications deadlines here at ISM, but we kindly ask international applicants who require a visa for studying in Germany to submit their application documents by July 15th of the same year.

Admission process

The admission process at ISM currently consists of a case study presentation and an online interview with the study program director. You will present your results of the case study in an oral presentation on the day of the admission interview.

Case study preparation

If you're a Master applicant, prior to your admission day you will have to prepare a case study presentation that you will also have to upload online before your interview.

The case study presentation can include presenting in PowerPoint the:

main results/summary of your Bachelor's thesis, or
an essay or term paper that you elaborated during your studies or - alternatively –
can be on a predefined case study topic that our study advisors will send you in advance, upon demand.

It is essential to show the connection between your chosen topic and the study program of your choice. We require a Power Point presentation (equivalent of 15 to 20 minutes, about 8 to 12 slides).

You will receive an email with exact instructions on the requirements of the case study from your study advisor.

Online interview & case study presentation

You will receive an email confirming your admission test day on which you will have an online interview with the study program director. The goal of this interview is to get to know you and your personal background better. We look forward to getting to learn about your professional and personal goals and your motivation for your Master studies.

All you need to do is rehearse you presentation and show up on time for the online interview.

Once you've had your interview, you await the admission committee's decision, which usually only takes just a few days. Then you will receive a study contract, sign it and start the enrollment process at ISM.

Required documents to be submitted

International payments

In order to simplify international payments, the ISM has established a cooperation with Flywire. This service can be used to pay the fees for the admission test, for example. Flywire takes care of the transfer along with calculating the currency difference (foreign currency to Euro). This is a simple and comfortable payment option to make your start at the ISM easier.

How to make a payment

Enter your payment amounts and country of origin and click "Next".
Select your preferred payment method from the options provided. Options may include bank transfer, debit/credit card in your home currency, electronic payment, or other local options.
Enter your payer and student information to initiate your payment booking.
Follow the instructions provided, based on your chosen payment method, to send funds to Flywire and complete your payment.
Receive email and text status updates each step of the way, including a confirmation when your payment has been delivered to ISM. If you create a Flywire account, you can also track your payment by logging in at any time.
