Real estate management in Mallorca with TUI, RIU and apm
The last excursion destination this summer was chosen by students of the Real Estate Management Master's at the Munich campus: The choice fell on "Mallorca". And with good reason, according to Professor Dr. Werner Pauen. This was also reflected in the program. The course director of the Real Estate Management Master's degree course based the trip, which lasted several days, on a threefold perspective:
In terms of location, the interesting thing about Mallorca is how the real estate industry is developing between mass tourism and quality tourism as well as the luxury real estate segment as a special business area. The excursion therefore took the students to the Robinson Club Cala Serena, which operates sustainably and completely self-sufficiently - with its own fresh water supply, wastewater treatment plant and energy generation.
Students also visited the project of a core refurbishment and various new construction projects in the upmarket villa segment. During the course of the excursion, real estate expert and specialist author Pauen brought the students into contact with representatives of the TUI Group, Robinson Resorts management, the RIU Hotel & Resort Group and project developer apm. The latter develops high-quality villas for private use - as a full-service provider from the search for land to the turnkey handover.
Specialist presentations and a guided tour to expand the sustainability strategy for properties used for tourism provided insights into current real estate developments and challenges in this highly sought-after region for real estate agents, construction companies, banks and public administration.
For the Master's students, it was a crowning finale to the second semester, allowing them to apply the knowledge gained from their studies at ISM using real-life examples. For example, questions were asked about building regulations, construction costs and marketing opportunities. After all, it is important to weigh up the high demand for real estate against the limited number of plots available. In addition, all relevant stakeholders had to be involved in real estate development in one of the most popular vacation and leisure regions.
