Receive competent support from the ISM International Office
At ISM, you will find many resources, academic experiences, assistance, networking opportunities, and ways to get a great experience as an international student. You'll join a welcoming community of people from Germany as well as all over the world - all on seven beautiful campuses in Germany. The International Office (IO) is here to help you every step of the way.
Among many other tasks, the International Office helps international students clarifiy many questions about their study stay at ISM, organizes exciting events and trips designated for international students and also helps ISM students arrange their compulsory stay abroad and looks after them while they are away. The IO team assists students in finding the most appropriate partner university and they are always there to help students who are currently studying abroad.
The International Office services include:
At ISM, we believe in the importance of an international education. That's why semesters abroad at one of around 190 partner universities are an integral part of all our full-time study programs. It is one of the largest partner university networks for business studies in Germany.
The International Office is always available to answer any questions you may have about your compulsory semester abroad. You'll be supported throughout your studies in the preparation and follow-up of your stay abroad at one of our partner universities. The IO offers a wide range of assistance to provide information on the options for your stay abroad, for example through individual counseling sessions and presentations.
Students of all of ISM's full-time master's programs have the additional option to graduate with an double degree from the ISM and a partner university abroad.
This means that, in addition to your regular ISM Master's degree, you can earn an additional, second Master's degree from one of our international partners.
The IO organizes different tailor-made, customized academic programs such as summer schools for groups based on individual wishes and needs of each group or ISM partner university. We're pleased to design a short-term, immersive, on-campus program that combines academic instruction with cross-cultural experiences such as company visits and cultural activities.
We promote global student mobility and support you in your individual scholarship application for your semester or internship abroad. Numerous scholarship and financing programs are available to support you financially in this case. The IO is available to assist you with your international application.
If you are not a citizen of EU/EEA/EFTA or a citizen of a country for which students can obtain their necessary residence permit for study purposes after their arrival, you need to apply for a student visa before. Please inform yourself about the visa application procedure and the documents needed (PDF) well in advance. We are happy to help answer questions regarding visa issues.
The Business Preparation Program (BPP) is offered at our campuses Dortmund and Frankfurt and it prepares bachelor graduates without business background in order to qualify them for the ISM master’s programs.
