Current EU monetary policy: ISM students visit the European Central Bank
It is one of Frankfurt's landmarks and one of the most powerful financial institutions in the world - the European Central Bank. ISM professor Dr. Steinberg attended a lecture at the premises with students to learn more about the ECB's function and strategy.
The price stability of the euro depends not only on economic developments, but also on the regulatory actions of the European Central Bank. The diverse insights into current monetary policy during the field trip to the ECB left a lasting impression on ISM student Rick Meinberg: "The ECB is an extremely meaningful place for politics and economics, both fields in which I have a strong interest." For the economics student, the visit to the ECB in Frankfurt opened up completely new perspectives on the subject of finance, as he explains: "To be honest, I always found topics relating to real value creation and productivity more exciting than finance. During the excursion to the ECB, I realized how effective and necessary monetary policy measures can be and how diverse the topic of finance actually is. It inspired me to get more involved with the topic in the future."
